The Landing - Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens
"Great experience and a special way to see the area!"
"We came to Tidal Transit on our last day and the experience was a perfect cap to our trip. The entire staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and treats you like long time friends. Their equipment is in great shape, their trips are well thought out, and they keep good staff to visitor ratio. The area is great for kayaking! Take a camera."
In partnership with Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, Tidal Transit is now operating at The Landing in addition to our downtown Boothbay Harbor location. Located on the Back River and sheltered by a series of secluded islands and rocky ledges, this area is home to a rich ecosystem abounding in seabirds, harbor seals, and a multitude of other wildlife. The Landing makes a great location for a quick photo excursion onto calm waters, or as a gateway to a longer expedition into the surrounding tidal waters. Join us on a guided tour, or rent a kayak or standup paddleboard to explore on your own.
Island Explorer Tour:
The waters bordering the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens contain a rich marine ecosystem with seals, osprey and other wildlife thriving in the salty rivers. Each morning we head into the Sheepscot river to explore this amazing ecosystem and surrounding islands. Single and tandem kayaks are available. Please arrive at The Landing by 9:30 AM. Garden Map
